Chocolate and vanilla swirl cake

This post has been in my drafts for such a long time and I thought it was time I shared it with you. I simply love this recipe! It is seriously delicious and very easy to make. I usually don't eat anything I bake (yes, I'm that weird) but it required a lot of self control for me not to eat the whole cake.

Ingredients:
  • 200g flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 170g butter
  • 180g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 160ºC / 320ºF
  2. In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar. Then, add the eggs and mix again.
  3. Add flour and baking powder and mix it all once more.
  4. Divide the mixture in two halves, each of them in a separate bowl.
  5. In a small bowl or glass, mix the cocoa powder and the milk and add it to one of the bowls.
  6. Add the vanilla extract to the other one.
  7. Put alternative spoonfuls of each bowl into the cake tin. Lightly swirl with a knife until you get the marble look (be careful not to overmix)
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes. Let cool for about 10 minutes before removing from the tin.
  9. Decorate with powdered sugar, syrup or even melted chocolate with sprinkles. The possibilities are endless!
Ingredientes:
  • 200g harina
  • 1 cucharadita de levadura
  • 170g mantequilla
  • 180g azúcar
  • 3 huevos
  • 2 cucharadas de cacao
  • 2 cucharadas de leche
  • 1 cucharada de extracto de vainilla
  • Azúcar glas (opcional)
Preparación:
  1. Precalienta el horno a 160ºC / 320ºF
  3. Añade la harina y la levadura y mezcla otra vez.
