Five TV shows I'm watching right now

There was a point in my life where all the shows I loved were coming to and end (Gossip Girl, How I met your mother), but now I feel like I'm in the complete opposite point, as I keep discovering new shows that I'm loving. Today I wanted to tell you about five tv shows that I'm currently watching.

Jane the Virgin

The daughter of a teen mother, Jane Villanueva grew up determined not to repeat her mom's mistakes. At 23 her life is on track; Jane is studying to be a teacher and engaged to a handsome detective who supports her decision to remain a virgin until marriage. Then a routine clinic visit flips her life upside down. Inseminated by a specimen meant for a patient in the next room, now-pregnant Jane is in a situation made only more-insane when she learns that the sperm donor is her boss, Rafael. As her meticulously planned life gets more like the telenovelas she loves, she faces a lot of complicated decisions about where to go from here.

I am absolutely obsessed with this Jane the Virgin. It seriously puts me in a good mood. Just like that. Every episode. It's so funny and (almost) all the characters are so adorable - specially Rogelio. And Michael is the boyfriend I wish I could have. I also love the narrator. It brings out something really different and he's adorably hilarious.

Shadowhunters

On her birthday, Clary Fray discovers a surprise concerning her life. The teenager is not who she thinks she is -- she comes from a long line of human-angel hybrids, called Shadowhunters, who hunt demons. After her mother is kidnapped, Clary is thrust into the world of demon-hunting. Clary relies on mysterious Jace and fellow hunters Isabelle and Alec to help her navigate the dark world. While living in this new world among creatures like vampires and werewolves, Clary's best friend Simon helps her uncover answers that could help her find her mother. The fantasy show is based on a series of young adult books by Cassandra Clare.

I read the books some years ago (not the last one, though) and I was really looking forwar to this tv shows. I have some mixed feelings about it since they did change a lot of things. Some changes are actually brilliant, but others made me quite upset because I liked the way some things happened in the books. But overall, I'm really enjoying it.

Pitch Slapped

Pitch Slapped is a reality show on Lifetime. It premiered on January 5, 2016. It follows a cappella teams from two New Jersey high schools that are mentored by some of the best coaches in the industry ...

If you like Pitch Perfect, I think you're going to enjoy this show. Or if you like singing, or music in general. I find it so amazing what all the groups in the show can do (and not only Highland voices and Stay Tuned). Also, my sister and I are rooting for different groups so it turned a little bit into a personal competition.

Dance Moms

Abby Lee Miller runs the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh. Miller is a notoriously demanding and passionate instructor. But she has competition in the area of being demanding -- from her students' mothers, as featured in this docuseries. The series highlights the highs and lows of the competitive dance season as the dancers pursue the ultimate National Dance title. Miller instructs her students while dealing with the over-the-top mothers who go to great lengths to help their children's dreams come true.

Dance Moms has been going on for five years now but I just can't get enough of it. Those kids are amazing! And all the mama drama always makes me desperate for the next episode.

The fosters

Stef and Lena have built a close-knit family with Stef's biological son, Brandon, and adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus. When Lena meets Callie the couple welcome her into their home, thinking it is temporary. Callie's blunt commentary about the atypical family hits a nerve with the twins, who struggle with their own identities. Then the girl discovers a secret that could land Mariana in trouble. Brandon helps Callie navigate the social scene at high school, but she skips school to meet up with an old friend. Her behavior makes Stef and Lena second-guess their decision to help her.

This show reminds me of the tv shows about little orphans that I used to watch when I was younger (although these were way more childish). It does make me think about the things fosters kids sometimes have to go through and how lucky I was to have a family. (Oh! And it also makes me want to foster 20 kids.... yeah...)

    1. Uf! Ves un montón tú también! Creo que Jane the Virgin te gustaría porque tiene partes en español y habla mucho de telenovelas. No sé, a mí me gusta mucho. Me gusta mucho la mezcla de las dos culturas.

  5. I haven't actually heard of any of these but they all sound interesting! The UK Netflix can be a bit pants sometimes so there's only a handful of TV shows I watch on there such as Gossip Girl (honestly I've watched it through about 3 times now) and my favourite at the moment is a show called Reign.

I don't watch much TV at all, I do feel like I'm missing out sometimes!
